Virtual Protest

Not everyone can physically attend protests, and our anti-genocide virtual gatherings serve as a vital platform to express grief, stand in solidarity, and engage in meaningful action against ongoing humanitarian crises.  Through our cross-platform inclusive digital space, we are providing vital accessibility to parents struck at home, workers who can’t leave, or disabled folks unable to attend due to low masking rates. Prioritizing accessibility and flexible volunteering, we empower members to contribute without mandatory meetings, accommodating diverse communication styles for non-verbal individuals.

How it works!

  • Join protest from home on your phone or computer
  • Like, comment, share
  • Moderate if you can!
  • Community LIVE rush (supercharge a creators page with LIVE engagement)
  • Group calls to action!
  • Watch your favorite content creators talk about activism!

Our programming includes amplifying on the streets protests with live rushes, highlighting hackathons with We Charge Genocide TV, ResistBot Congressional Performances, Feast of Gaza Food Challenge, Why Mask, and more.

Virtual Protests provide an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, learn about pressing issues, and participate in movement work that seeks to bring about positive change. Together, we can amplify our voices and make a difference in struggles for justice and freedom.

Virtual Protests aren’t just calls to action; it’s a performance of justice. Let’s shift towards community care! ✊

Virtual Protest Surround the Capitol July 24, 2024

This event was designed with low spoons capacity to test out the future creation of an accessible template for producing virtual protests as part of Jesenia’s Emerge Fellowship. Jesenia produced this as a solo hosting, with the support of Claudia to include the GatherTown Digital Encampment. With this quick turnaround and low spoons we still had an amazing turn out and wonderful affirmation from the audience of making the stream accessible with Closed Captions and connections in the chat!

Virtual Event Recap Nov. 4, 2023

Jae @JaesTruthSerum and Jesenia of One Free Community organized this emergent virtual protest on Nov 4. Over 500 people signed up to participate in less that 24 hours. The event included a zoom with 100 guests and a twitch live stream and several tiktok live streams. We began with Jae sharing pro-Palestine livestreams and we all listened to powerful speeches at various protests. We dropped likes and amplified the connectivity of those streams. Then we went into small groups and brainstormed action steps by region. Afterward we gathered and shared resources and listened to The Every 28 Hours Plays Palestine Action podcast.
