What is the tech cooperative?
A cooperative (also known as co-operative, co-op, or coop) is “an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly owned and democratically-controlled enterprise”. Our tech co-op offers a range of software and platforms like Adobe Suite, Canva, and Mentimeter and video game libraries where the costs are covered by one of us. It also give you access to free resources like a digital encampment, our AI generation platforms library, Discord communities, and the funding opportunity bank. Our organizing circle has access to these tools and actively maintains the database.
Leveling the playing field: Sharing programs and tools
At Calling Up Justice we are dedicated to leveling the playing field for under-resourced communities. Our philosophy centers around providing access to enterprise-level digital tools and knowledges that might otherwise be out of reach. We offer access to our tech-coop to participants of our bootcamp trainings. We produce engaging peer exchange sessions where we dive deep into skills like OBS engineering, Zoom management, graphic design. Our goal is to empower you with practical skills that can enhance your digital presence and open doors to exciting opportunities.
Supporting Independent Creators: Amplify Your Voice
Our website serves as a hub for independent creators to showcase their work and connect with a vibrant community of like-minded individuals. Whether you’re an artist, a writer, a streamer, or an editor, Calling Up Justice is here to provide the support and platform you need to flourish. Participants of our Digital Residency and Quarantine Residency are given access to the tech coop.
Impactful Initiatives: Bridging the Digital Divide
Through our dedicated fundraising efforts, we’ve successfully secured computers and tech equipment for talented artists and creators in diverse locations such as Arkansas, Tacoma, New York, Texas, and the Bay Area. By bridging the digital divide, we’re fostering creativity, innovation, and self-expression in every corner of our society. Donations can be made at our Flipcause or our Ko-Fi.
