April 5 was a big day. Congratulations on some epic civic engagement we are still in the midst of producing. Here’s the results from our debrief meeting today. While we are proud of what we accomplished with our limited resources we’re also as disappointed as many of YOU that folks couldn’t get into the space. We built the space for free and it can only hold 50 at a time. When Hands Off asked us to expand the capacity we sent an email to invite you to our One Free Community Discord. 300 folks joined One Free Community and 75 folks watched the livestream with us. Then even MORE folks signed up. So we emailed you AGAIN with a youtube link. Over 5,821 viewed our livestream! Thanks to Calling Up Justice, One Free Community and Hands Up for organizing. Thanks to our 6 volunteer facilitators, Jesenia and Claudia for hosting and graphic design and Maiamama for the livestream! Unfortunately thousands couldn’t make it into our gathertown Justice Event Space.
Good News! For those who couldn’t get in April 5 -The Justice Event Space is open for the next 2 weeks! We’re adding new elements to it every day. We are fundraising to increase the capacity in our Digital Encampment. So our April 19 event will have ASL interpretation (and if we are able to raise enough CART Captioning). We’re looking for folks to volunteer for facilitation and orientation in youtube, discord, and gathertown. Email us if you can help.

Calling Up Justice and One Free Community organized a virtual protest for disabled folks, caretakers, and others who couldn’t attend in person. We refuse to let accessibility barriers exclude us from this movement. Our voices, our resistance, and our solidarity were seen and heard! We’re keeping this movement going. If you were sick, stuck at work, or unable to join the space because we had 5000 folks trying to event at the same time— come embrace the spirit of CripTime with us and keep April 5 going for the next two weeks!
Join us in our Gathertown-Protest Space anytime until midnight April 23

Read this event guide that contains a map of the space and links to different digital spaces.

Join One Free Community for on going-events.
Sign Up Here for the Digital Encampment to access even more resources! We are holding this event in this special Justice Event Space because our Digital Encampment can only hold 10 members at a time. Our Digital Encampment has a number of interesting rooms to explore. We invite you to join us there throughout the year and build as artists and organizers.

Join Calling Up Justice for a powerful evening of art, activism, and dialogue. Producer and writer Claudia Alick and director Becca Wolff reunite to revisit their acclaimed SCOTUS Theater script, originally adapted from the landmark cases Korematsu v. United States (1944) and Trump v. Hawaii (2018). We are now connecting Japanese Internments to the abduction and ICE detainment of students. For this new production, the team is expanding the script to include new material from the Mahmoud Khalil case and others, connecting past and present struggles for civil liberties, immigration rights, and justice.

🚨 Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them. We are fighting back! 🚨
They’re grabbing everything they can—our health care, our data, our jobs, our services—and daring the world to stop them.
📢 On Saturday, April 5th, we took to the streets—and the digital space—with a clear message: Hands Off!
- These Are Our Services, Our Jobs, Our Dollars: Everyone deserves good jobs, reliable services, and a fair economy—but Trump, Musk, and their billionaire buddies are destroying livelihoods, gutting public resources, and driving up costs just to pad their own pockets.
- They’re Coming For All of Us: No matter what issues matter to you, you have a dog in this fight. The things you hold precious are absolutely on the chopping block for Trump, Musk, and congressional Republicans.
- We Have The Power: This fight is just beginning, and we’re mobilizing to jumpstart the opposition. Together, we have the power to stop this takeover.
- This Cannot Be Business As Usual: We are facing an unconstitutional threat to our country and our freedoms through an illegal power grab. Now is the time to make our voices heard and demand our lawmakers to use their power to hold Trump and Musk accountable.
This mass mobilization is a declaration: we do not consent to the destruction of our government and economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire allies. Alongside people across the country, we are marching, rallying, and protesting to stop the chaos and build an opposition movement against the looting of our country.
A core principle of all Hands Off! events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to work toward de-escalation in any potential confrontations with those who oppose our values.
