In 2022, Calling Up Justice served a diverse range of communities through their public speaking engagements and consultations. They provided workshops and presentations on accessibility and disability justice, participated in lectures and panels on topics such as Afrofuturism, disabled artistry, and environmental justice. In addition, they served as guest moderators and also facilitated discussions and meetings. Through these engagements, Calling Up Justice worked to promote racial justice, accessibility, disability justice, and leadership skills.
In 2022, Calling Up Justice collaborators and artists participated in a variety of public speaking engagements and consultations. These included workshops for Urban Bushwomen CCI and Broadway Kimberly Akimbo, theater makers and theater leaders from across the country, Civic Media Leadership Social Hour at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg Innovation Lab. They also participated in lectures and panels such as the Smithsonian Afrofuturism Series, IG live chat with Howlround. In addition, they guest moderated for the Seattle Cultural Accessibility Consortium panel on building inclusive arts and gave a presentation on Electra at Stanford University’s “The Art of Access: Disability, Creativity, Communication.” They also participated in consultations with organizations such as National Disability Theater and the Ford Foundation, and facilitated discussions for Theater Bay Area and Art Spark Texas.
