The Living Fund — Launching 2026

Calling Up Justice, inspired by the brilliant work of Liberation Medicine School (LMS) and its Vision towards a Black Trans Universal Care Fund is launching The Living Fund in 2026.

This initiative grows from our long-standing belief in Work for Wages, Basic Universal Care, and the radical possibility of thriving together. The Living Fund represents a bold next step in our movement toward a world where survival is not tied to productivity, and care is recognized as the foundation of all creative and justice work.

What We’re Building

The Living Fund is a universal care model designed to provide a consistent, unconditional base of financial support for our core practitioners and collaborators. Instead of exchanging money for deliverables, we are cultivating a mutual care ecosystem built on trust, relationship, and accountability. This is about resourcing the human beings who make justice work possible — not just the projects they produce.

Why It Matters

We are imagining an economy beyond capitalism — one that centers disabled, Black, queer, and trans leadership, and values rest, access, and collective thriving over output. We believe that when people’s needs are met, they can engage their creativity, collaboration, and care from a place of abundance rather than exhaustion.

A Step Toward Universal Care

This fund is an experiment and a promise. We are beginning with a small circle of practitioners and partners, testing models of redistribution, and learning in public. Over time, The Living Fund will grow into a community-supported system of care, redistributing resources to sustain those producing justice in digital, physical, and imaginative spaces.

Join Us

The Living Fund is only possible through collective participation. In 2026, we’ll be inviting supporters to contribute directly to this new system of care through our “Money Please” campaign, annual mutual aid drives, and sustained community partnerships.

We are not waiting for the world to change — we are building the world we need.
