What does this term mean? The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Industrial Complex (EDI Industrial Complex) is a term that has been used to describe the networks of organizations and individuals that are involved in promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). The concept is similar to the military-industrial complex and the prison-industrial complex, which refer to the ways in which businesses become entwined in social or political systems or institutions, creating or bolstering a profit economy from these systems.

In the context of the EDI Industrial Complex, organizations and individuals may be involved in promoting EDI in various contexts, such as the workplace, education, healthcare, and community development. These organizations and individuals may include consultants, trainers, and other professionals who are involved in providing services or products related to EDI.

The EDI Industrial Complex may be seen as a vested interest that influences public policy and decision-making, with the goal of promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion for profit or other agendas. Some critics argue that the EDI Industrial Complex may be focused on managing the symptoms of inequality and discrimination rather than addressing the root causes. Calling Up Justice believes in familiarizing yourself these concepts.
