Lotus Young (He/They) is a multiply-disabled, chronically ill and neurodivergent community organizer, artist, arts administrator, and accessibility worker. Since 2022, he has served on the Boards of Directors for Oaklash, the Bay Area’s Drag Festival, and Disability Power Bloc, an organization that fiscally sponsors disability justice projects led by disabled people. In 2025, he joined the production team of Clean Air Network, a mutual aid group providing free masks and a community lending library of air purifiers for public events. He has facilitated and emceed community events such as the Lunar New Year Celebration, Chronic Pain Care Circle and Open Mic at the San Francisco Disability Cultural Center; The 35th Anniversary of the ADA Rally at The Center for Independent Living Berkeley; The Emerge Fellowship Virtual Symposium at Paul K. Longmore Institute on Disability, and more.

As a professional drag king of eight years, King LOTUS BOY’s (He/Ze/They) anti-disciplinary artistic practice draws on his lived experiences, exploring concepts like: [trans]gender fluidity, Chinese-American culture, sustainability, desirability, and the “performance” of vulnerability and disability in the context of an ableist society. He co-founded and co-produces Accessible Futures and Earth Angels, two mask-required drag showcases that center disabled and QTBIPOC performers. In 2023, LOTUS BOY became the first openly disabled and Asian winner of the 27th Annual San Francisco Drag King Contest. Ze is a proud member of The HALA Collective and co-produces Cabaret Palestina and JAHA Film Festival with zir creative partner and founder, Mama Ganuush. LOTUS BOY’s work has been featured at: SF Institute of Contemporary Art, SF MoMa, SF Disability Cultural Center, Austin International Drag Festival, Chinese Historical Society of America Museum, Oakland Asian Cultural Center, United States of Asian America Festival, Fresh Meat Festival of Transgender and Queer Performance, Drag and Spirituality Summit, Queer Women of Color Film Festival, National Wildlife Federation Conference, Cal Academy of Sciences, and more. When not onstage, ze advocates for accessibility and facilitates workshops on drag history and gender expression in the Bay Area and beyond.
