Reflection On My Time At Calling Up Justice by Niya

My time at Calling Up Justice has been a push of much needed growth for me. It has encouraged
me to go after my goals and seek what I need and learn new things about creating a professional
persona for me that have been extremely useful for my career.

On the technological side, I have learned how to use the programs OBS and Zoom for virtual
spaces. I have learned how to do virtual hosting. It has taught me the importance of disability and
access. As well as providing access to those who perhaps cannot make it to events, such as me
who has a dynamic disability that prevents me from going to events in person quite often. I also
created an accessible audio for a preview of a play at BAM House Oakland. That was something
that was made me feel very confident in my skill-building.

I learned what SEO was for social media and that was truly important for me. I never understood
what SEO was and now understand how important it is for social media marketing.
I learned some really new things as well. I had no idea what an Access Doula was, and now that I
do, have background on it, and have experience in being one, I am interested in being one for
future events.

Most importantly, it has taught me the power of my voice and the pawer of believing in myself.
