Money Please: We Rise Together
Giving Tuesday began as a simple idea — a collective response to the frenzy of consumerism surrounding Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Created in 2012 by New York’s 92nd Street Y in partnership with the United Nations Foundation, Giving Tuesday re-centered the global conversation around generosity, solidarity, and care. It asked: What if we all gave as fiercely as we spend?
Over time, it evolved beyond a single day. It became a movement — a worldwide affirmation that mutual aid, creativity, and justice are acts of giving. Every gift, whether time, talent, or dollars, becomes part of a larger network of shared thriving.
Calling Up Justice: Building the Stage, Not Just Standing on It
At Calling Up Justice, we practice this spirit every day. We don’t just fundraise — we build digital and artistic stages for others to rise on. Our community is full of creators, justice producers, organizers, and disabled, queer, trans, and BIPOC innovators who are doing transformative work. Instead of competing for attention or resources, we amplify one another.
This Giving Tuesday, our “Money Please” campaign is an invitation — not just to donate, but to step onto the stage with us. We’re using our platforms, networks, and art to spotlight others’ campaigns, small projects, and survival funds. When we hold space for each other to shine, we all grow brighter.
We Rise Together
When our community rises, we do too.
We believe that generosity is not a transaction — it’s an ecosystem.
That justice is not a solo act — it’s an ensemble performance.
And that the future we’re building is one where abundance, accessibility, and mutual care are the baseline, not the exception.
Your contribution doesn’t just sustain one practice; it sustains a network of justice producers co-creating the digital, artistic, and real-world future we all deserve.
So this Giving Tuesday, say it with us:
Money Please — and Justice Always.
