This video reflects on the dynamics of performance happening around the expanded representation of casting an African-american actress in the title role of the cultural production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid. We discuss the dynamic of fighting to maintain white domination in fictive spaces and what this tells us about maintenance of white domination in the real world.
