I am defining Care Worker expensively. This includes:

  • All levels of folk who work within the medical system (CNAs, specialists, nurses, physicians, death/end of life care, food and custodial, etc etc)

  2. Covid Cautious is a catch all
I use Covid Cautious because it feels best for me. If you use a different term : Covid Conscious, Covid Safer, etc. Please do. I ain’t interested in regulating that. As long as you are:

Actually taking covid and covid mitigation seriously, including at least still masking in all indoor public spaces.

  1. Own your wholeness
We all have marginalized and privileged identities that will impact how we exist and interact in this space particularly because being covid cautious is unfortunately niche af. And. It’s not the sum total of us. Black, Latine and Indigenous communities continue to be most impacted by covid. Trans folks are disproportionately impacted by long covid. Move and speak from all of you. As well as own if your wholeness negatively impacts someone. Example: if someone is sharing and you have more privilege an power than them, do not speak over them (ie do not use your wholeness to silence them) or disregard them. If they say you doing too much, be open to that. Keep it cute ✌🏾
  2. This is an anti surveillance culture space
I’ve noticed, particularly with proclaimed “covid cautious ” yt folk, there is a tendency to surveil and nitpick other covid cautious folks, especially Black folks and then publicly be disrespectful. That is not welcome here. I understand the feeling of seeing someone not being what you define as covid cautious/safer/conscious. I have those feelings often. AND. There is a difference between being disappointed/concerned (which yes of course!) and voicing it and using your privilege to harass others.
  3. No nonsense No mess
replicating oppressive shit is not welcome
NO antiblackness, ableism, classism, elitism, transphobia, mysogynoir/misogyny/, xenophobia, zi on ism, homophobia, etc. etc. etc.
  4. Take care
Take care and ground in care whenever possible knowing that sometimes it ain’t. We do not know folks on the internet like that an so “assuming best intent” is more often than not, not an accessible tool. We are in serious isolating and ragefull times. I made this page so we can find each other but that doesn’t mean everything will be a bright & shiny garden.
*If you use this agreement to tone police
Black people & People of Color i’ll block you*
