Afro-Diasporic Ocean Festival Virtual Space

The Afro-Diasporic Ocean Festival is a multidisciplinary, day-long, free cultural event that uplifts the sacred relationship between people of the African diaspora, Indigenous communities, and the ocean at Rockaway Beach Amphitheater on August 15, 2026. Through live performance, ritual, movement, and storytelling, the festival centers cultural preservation, ocean reverence, and community gatherings.

Calling Up Justice invited by Liberarte has built a connected virtual space in Digital Encampment on gathertown.

This year, they celebrate Garifuna culture through headliner, Bodoma Garifuna; a workshop by GarifunaRobics; and a DJ set by Garifuna artist DJ Wavy Fox. There will be a panel discussion and a roda capoeira. Visit our digital space, click links and find out more about the host and poet of the event, guest literary performers, panel discussion from afrolatin@forum, Roda Capoeira by Quilombo do Acupe, and more.

This digital space is easy to explore. Click on the button below, make an avatar and click x on different objects and discover what they reveal!
