2023 Year in Review

calling up justice year in glance 2023

2023 was a year of maintenance, growth, deepening, and a lot of rapid response producing for Calling Up Justice. We invested a lot of time and energy into our website this year. We love the workshops and consultations and peer exchange sessions we produced. Open Development has helped folks to apply for support from sources we shared. The world is better when we empower each other. We published great writing and resources inside the Calling Up Justice Practice. We also did consults on the National Disability Theater Handbook and recorded accessible audio versions. There were exhibitions and festivals and online events and in person events. Our artistic offerings had so much racial and disability justice. Both EAAT and Gray Area Festival were big projects. We are very proud of The Every 28 Hours Plays podcast and Gaza Monologues reading. We plan on producing another Virtual Pride and Dis/Rep in 2024 and continuing our digital spaces like CripCreate. Thanks to Catalyst Consulting and Curiosity Paradox for many great collaborations. We’re so proud of our partner One Free Community and all we have manifested together. Our community grew. Biggest gratitude comes to Core Folks who helped keep our practice running every week.
