Calling Up Justice Supports Dreams on a Pillow Campaign

Calling Up Justice is excited to contribute $60 to the Dreams on a Pillow campaign, a groundbreaking storytelling project by Palestinian game developer Rasheed Abueideh. Known for his previous work on Liyla & The Shadows of War, Rasheed is now crafting a pseudo-3D stealth adventure game inspired by a historical Palestinian folk tale.

The game is set during the 1948 Nakba and follows Omm, a young mother from an olive farming family in al-Tantura. After her husband is killed by Zionist invaders, Omm mistakenly carries a pillow instead of her newborn child as she escapes toward Lebanon. The narrative intertwines her harrowing journey with dreamlike memories of her pre-Nakba childhood, offering a powerful exploration of resilience and loss.

Despite facing challenges in securing traditional funding due to the sensitive subject matter, Dreams on a Pillow has received overwhelming support. The campaign raised $240,402 from 3,336 backers, far exceeding its $194,800 goal.
