mutya

mutya (they/siya) is a multiply-disabled artist/writer/dancer/facilitator, whose work pulls from the teachings of generations of disabled leaders, artists, and writers who understood (understand) that our silence will not protect us. they use prose, imagery, and movement as a way of telling &  restoring the stories of those pushed to the periphery.

their practice is nourished by the queerness of being a medical anomaly, the magic of disability intimacy, and the saturnian knowing that pain & death are inevitable, and deserve to be held with softness + truthful memory.
